Elbows Up! *SOLD*
Back in March 2025 when Donald decided to start bullying Canada, the country united behind the Elbows Up! rallying cry which originates from hockey legend Gordie Howe ("Mr. Elbows"…you know, that guy we named the bridge after?) Of course I had to make some art. So I started with writing our Oh Canada! national anthem across 4 canvases. The floral collage comes from a piece of collage paper I made to look like the Canadian Flag, using a real maple leaf to print the middle leaf design. Two of the cans holding the flowers had a Canada Flag design with “Vote Like a Girl” written on them in honour of our federal election in 2025. On the other two cans I painted images of Rosie the Riveter style Canadian women and the words “Elbows Up!” written on them. This was the last one available and has been sold at Argyle Fine Art on September 5th 2026.
A World Where There Are Octobers
Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery is one of my favourite childhood books, along with many other Canadians! This quote made by Anne says it all for me. I LOVE October. If I could wear a big sunflower ballgown in October, I would!

Moon Mist
Emily Byrd Starr, the main character from my favourite book as a child, Emily of New Moon by Lucy Maud Montgomery, is a very wistful magical character who I relate to very much. One evening, she goes for a walk in the moonlight where a fairy like imaginary friend she calls “The Wind Woman” is waiting for her. She describes the Wind Woman as “tall and misty” with “eyes like stars”. They walk together in the pasture with the grass and spruce trees where she feels “she came more fully into her fairy birthright there than any other place.”
I used parts of quotes from Emily of New Moon for the words on Moon Mist and the two other pieces in the Moonmaids trilogy collection.
