When my twin sister and I were kids we would tie towels around our shoulders while running down the beach in our bathing suits screaming, “Wonder Broad!” to the tune of the old Wonder Bra commercials. We felt fierce, fun, and free. When do we stop feeling like that as girls? I can’t pinpoint the moment when I started to feel self conscious about my body but I’m pretty sure it was somewhere between being whistled at while bike riding at 12 years old and being told to keep my shoulders covered by teachers at 14. I firmly believe women should wear whatever the heck they want, no matter what age.
